Book review: Israel of God.

In this work,  O. Palmer Robertson, deals with this very tricky subject which has often inflamed a lot of debate and discussion. And more often than not-- it is needless and pointless, but this work is is well balanced and carefully put together in order to give us a solid case on the subject.  If I was asked to recommend a book on this subject; it would be this one because gives us a most encouraging and very welcome outline of this vitally important case concerning this matter.  To put it simply this book can be summed up in four simple terms.

First, historical as it shows us the history of both the land and people; and their value.
Second, theological there is a revealing of the what it means to God.
Third, exegetical to understand how it all connects together-- that is to say, the Old and New elements work together in a unity.
Fourth, practical as it relate to us today and where we fit in.

It would profitable to read this work all the way through as it is a much needed resource on the subject; but two chapters that are standouts are 5: Israel of God and the kingdom; and 6: Israel of God and Romans 11.
