Question and Answer.

What is the biblical response to people who are adamant in calling themselves "non-binary"? In Ephesians 4, we are told by Paul,  that no matter what we must "speak the truth in love" (4:15) and that is what we must do-- even if fundamentally disagree with the whole notion that being put forth by the revolutionist. What we get from this statement is the clear fact that we must always honour the truth; and we must always show love. And it is our hope that as we respond to this above question that this goal is fully accomplished.  Let us note that no matter what one believes; or what one may think regarding this issue-- the reality is much clearer:  there is no such thing non-binary; and no matter how one tries to deny this it ultimate comes down male and female-- in other words, there is only one option and that is everything is binary.  Now let us consider why people want escape this reality by denied the inevitable truth; it comes down to a number of factors: (1)

Kingship of Christ.

A kingdom is a domain ruled by a single monarch who has absolute sovereignty, who functions with unilateral authority, whose will is non-contradictable, authoritative, absolute. It is not representative, it is not democratic. The will of the people does not rule. The will of the people virtually has no impact. The duty of the people is to submit. The duty of the people is to obey. The duty of the people is to fall under the standards and commands that are determined by the king and do whatever it is he asks. This is true of the kingdom of God… The kingdom of God has come and those of us who know Christ are in it. We are in it and the Lord Jesus Christ is our King.   (John MacArthur:  Responses to the Kingdom: Peace or Punishment)

Questions and Answers.

Why do you believe that the Charismatics are in error? To answer this in a simple fashion:  most well known charismatic preacher and tele-evangelists  are guilty of majoring on the minors; and minoring on the majors. In other words,  they do not know or even care for given a robust understanding of what it means to be a Christian; and nor do they care to explain what takes place in the case of individual Christian when they become a Christian. Al they care for is promoting false hope and false ideology of the modern false teachers that made the Charismatic understanding so prevalent.   But to give you a more thorough understanding of the issues at hand-- I offer three important realities which will give us some basis of understanding. These teacher are: (1)   Self-centred. One example of this comes from one of  the teachers of what I call soft- charismatic or the prosperity gospel. He claim is that "he knows that the tips that he offers will help those who follow them2 and here

Theology videos.

Here we have another video by Anthony Roger on a topic which seems to raise its unbiblical ead from time to time.  Open Theism which is simply without foundation or even purpose; it is a blight on the face of all good and sound exegetical understanding of scriptures.  This is a good video on the matter.

Book Review: Forgiveness

Image
"Vengeance is popular today; forgiveness is not. Retaliation is often portrayed as a virtue reflecting a healthy self-esteem. It is heralded as an inalienable right of personal freedom. Vengeance is evidence of macho strength."  Says John MacArthur. These are the opening words of this ground breaking work on one of the Godly virtues which all Christian must, without any doubt exhibit. Think of the words that both our Lord and his most regarded Apostle tells: " For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,   but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."  (Matt. 5: 14-15;    Col. 2:13; 3:13) .  How can someone go through life with fractured relationships when it just shows that they untrustworthy to all people around them?  This work is an important one as it gives us the basis for Christian fellowship  and unity-- it all comes down to us being forgiven of our sins; and

Questions and Answers

Who is Romans 7:14-25 about?      Surely it is about a believer; and any at any point in time.  When we come to a question such as this which is load with many assumptions and presuppositions which  have all come from a particular interpretation of the passage-- where by the identity of the person become the most central point of contention. Instead of starting with this kind of thought; perhaps a more logical and even better one would be to ask:  what is the passage about?  Then we can really get down to some of the more foundational issues that faces us when dealing with truly problematic statement. And it is if the most common interpretation is allowed to prevail.  The thing we must understand is this:  the identity of the person is not required at this stage as it will become apparent as we progress. The above question is answers very easily:  the Law and its convicting power when it is applied to a person who is not a Christian (vs. 7-13). In that section, Paul deals clearly with

Some important videos on theology

In these four video posts, Anthony Rogers goes through the introduction to the book of Galatians, giving us a masterful exposition which includes many reference to different early church father; and modern church theologians.  A most needed thing for all true Christian to find time to listen; and I recommend these. There will be more put out in the future.

Book review: Israel of God.

In this work,  O. Palmer Robertson, deals with this very tricky subject which has often inflamed a lot of debate and discussion. And more often than not-- it is needless and pointless, but this work is is well balanced and carefully put together in order to give us a solid case on the subject.  If I was asked to recommend a book on this subject; it would be this one because gives us a most encouraging and very welcome outline of this vitally important case concerning this matter.  To put it simply this book can be summed up in four simple terms.  First, historical as it shows us the history of both the land and people; and their value.   Second, theological there is a revealing of the what it means to God.  Third, exegetical to understand how it all connects together-- that is to say, the Old and New elements work together in a unity. Fourth, practical as it relate to us today and where we fit in.  It would profitable to read this work all the way through as it is a much needed resou
