The death of society

Now that is a bold claim to make! What is it that I have in mind? Well, simply this: when any society that was at one time strongly based on biblical principle turns away from the foundation ultimately there has to be something that replace; and replace it I mean that it bring along with it a death induced system of thought. Do I need to give you a clear expression of this pattern? Yes I do. the continual destruction of unborn babies would be a clear example of this; and with the ever changing expression of this to include those who are born with some kind of abnormality as it is so defined. That would be everyone because no one can give a definition of what normal is-- well except for us Christians as long as you created in the image of God that is what gives us a right to say that there is such a thing 'sanctity of life'. 

But this point is not only about that particular issues-- it cover a gambit of issue; but they will not be mentioned specifically. What I want to do is make a clear line of trajectory in thought that has led to the commonplace anarchy. 

The enlightenment of society. 

This was a philosophy which seeked to establish  'reason as the primary source of authority and legitimacy, and advocated such ideals as liberty, progress, tolerance, fraternity, constitutional government, and separation of church and state.'  Of course, it was dreamt up in the 18th century by men who were clearly atheist or at least deistic. And it clearly was not something which defined a people in terms of learning; but rather it was in reality picture of a deeper issue: rebellion against ones own maker. They just wanted to be freed to live in their own depravity. Now what stands as testament to this fact is that each one of the men who pioneered this philosophy ended up destitute because they could never find what it was they were looking for at all. 

But now let us note something that has not changed: mankind still has not found that which they were in search of; and that is even more abundant today. But what do know is this, if we look to our own reason to be able to know right from wrong-- we never will be able to determine what is truly and absolutely right from wrong. for example: how can we know if a boy who claims to be a girl is a good thing? Or to put it another way: what justification does one have to say such a thing is wrong from this humanistic philosophy? 

Let us take note of the following scripture which describes this to the tee:  

For although they knew God, they did not honour him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. (Rom. 1:21-22)

Think about what this philosophy leads too-- one to deny reality and one to think more highly of himself than is necessary. Look at where it end: either it drives you to madness; or drives you your ultimate demise.  And in both of these case men have been seen to exhibit them with no basis for sanity. The bible gives us an example of this, in the person of King Nebuchadnezzar who believe that he had achieved all his greatness from his sheer intellect; and we all know what happen to him: God turned him into a unreasoning beast. 

Perhaps a lot of it was down to being self-deceived into thinking one had arrived at the place of ultimate knowledge. But in reality they had either never begun or never seen their own misguided attempts. The great problem is that they could not even justify their own reasoning for believing that was all that was needed. to put in the words of John MacArthur who puts in a most succinct way: 

After thousands of years, the very best of human philosophers have all utterly failed to account for truth and the origin of human knowledge apart from God. In fact, the one most valuable lesson humanity ought to have learned from philosophy is that it is impossible to make sense of truth without acknowledging God as the necessary starting point.

 Even if people are looking for some new hope such as this-- let us bear in mind these words: "there is nothing new under the sun." (Eccles. 3:1) and then these "it is all vanity." (a continued refrain from Ecclesiastes). And this is the first deadly deception that has left its mark on history of mankind. 

 The evolution of man

In around a century later, in steps the next problematic philosophy which should be understood by it subtitle; for at least we would know the real heart of this matter:  " the preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life." And it is easy to see the trajectory of thought from this work in the 1850's or when he first wrote it (pub:1859) to his next work called the descent of man in 1870's or so. It is from this idea that we see that the sin of  Racism had a footing in order for for it to be academically approved and accepted. While there may be push to silence this notion from many; but from others who hold to this evolution ideal is easily seen. I mean that if one thinks that there is a favoured race it would automatically mean others are not favoured or are less desirable. And one clear example is what took place with the aborigines in early part of 20th century. 

A most grievous example of inhumane behaviour from one people group to another. An not even 100 years later this same evolutionary falsehood spearheaded the Hitler Regime which is another black spot on human history.  But just think of what the scriptures tells about what the sinfulness of man does to us "hated by others and hating one another." (Titus 3:3) which results from hatred of God (Rom. 1: 30).  And, therefore, we deny and reject that He created us equally in His image as we are told in these words:

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Gen. 1:26-27)

What justification does one have for believing in such nonsense as evolution? I know that people will say that 'it is not a belief because it has been proven'.  But let us be honest with ourselves for one moment: Macro-evolution is still something that lack any credible validation. And time has shown us this all the supposed transitional form that turn out to well staged but all verified hoax's. But what is worse is the fact that people still want to put this nonsense forward as fact without even noticing that it all is speculative theory. 

 But now-- before someone says "what of micro-evolution?"  let us ditch the term evolution because it is misnomer. It is actually biological adaption within a species such as how from the genius dog set you can get a variety of different dogs. But is still a process which God had put into their very genetic codes. And how do we know this? From these simple words: 

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. (Gen. 1: 24-5)

We might note the term "according to their kind"  this is true of all land and sea mammals and animal as well as those that have the ability to fly. Each has off-spring according to its own natural order and kind. In other words, even those you have hyenas and jackal and wolves  they are of the same species the Canine family. They are all wild dogs. And no amount of time can take one and change into a completely different species or kind. It will never be a feline or a amphibian no matter how hard you wish it could be.   And this also means that the variety of finches that Darwin noted they all came from one kind of bird; and all the varieties of birds derived from the genus bird pair.  

 The revision of education

Now by this I am referring to the most insidious and malicious actions the already deceived has ever pulled-- it is called "sensitivity training" or as it must be referred too as "compromising moral convictions." But let us note there are several main areas that this nonsense has been particularly effective in.

(1) The Academic/Industry realm: we have seen what happens when teachers do not yield to this kind mentality; they either bullied to comply or fired. And it is even more dangerous for those who refuse to submit to these ungodly standards who are Christians; and live by the biblical standard and only allow that to determine their outlook (let us not neglect the truth: all schools and universities have a strong Christian underpinning); and this is a real sad situation because there are a lot great teacher being disciplined because they do not see the value of accommodating to the sexual revolution and its demands.  In fact, no place of education should even cater to its demands. 

(2) Multimedia: it comes all too familiar to see people who host T.V shows and news broadcasts to bend over backwards for such things that support sinfulness and depravity. For example: on a popular show there have been two segment devoted to the L.G.BT issue in recent weeks whereby these things are being touted as being holy expression of living. In fact, it has become a prime-time feature to have shows dedicated to these depraved and very deadly things which are sinful. I ask a simple question: if these thing were normal or natural (that is, a part of creative order); then why do we need them to be paraded around in our faces every day? It comes down to a simple recognition of them being under God judgement. 

I want to end with these words from the Apostle Paul:

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. 

Remember that we have a higher calling: let us stand for the truth.
