Pride: A Christian examination.
In proverbs 16:18, we are told: "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling." These words perfectly describe what happens when a particular sin is given free reign; it morphs into world-wide deception. Sin is sin; no matter how you dress the matter to suit someone else's personal desire. What we get from this is a defiance of an absolute. it is in the words of another man greatly used by God, they 'call good evil; and evil good'. (Isaiah 5:22) And what is worse happens to be the fact that it is being forced upon everyone else even if that person disagrees with the whole concept; such a person is called all kinds of thing simply for holding on to their convictions and standing for the truth. let us now brief take note of what it is we are talking about.
L.G.B.T that is the whole issue. And it is a crime for those who take a stand against this whole perversion. Are we not allowed to show concern for those who are being forced to sit in a re-education camp system? Should Christian parents give up on what they allow their children to be taught to appease the regime? I do not think so. Gone are the days when children's mind were more important than a system of thought which directly contradicted reality. In order for there to be children it require one man and one women who were and still should be Married; and the only definition of said union. It is based on complimentary and compatible structures as well being spiritual and physical in nature. As Christians it should be our number one duty to let the scriptures define what is acceptable and what is not before God; and it does just that.
It is the Lord, who is essentially re-affirming the old testament parameters of marriage life, states: “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Matthew 19:4-6) These quotes come directly from the Torah and are found in Genesis 1:26-27 and 2: 24-25. What is important in these things happens to be that we see what marriage is by Divine Design. There is no other form of marriage to be given or ever experienced without the original being desecrated in the process. congratulations to those revolutionaries who celebrate a perversion.
Now let us ask: what does this all mean in more general terms? how will this affect us in a practical sense? the answer to this is simple; and it is being played out right before our eyes. Therefore, we must note it: First, the destruction of the biblical pattern for what a man and woman is, in terms of who they are, as people. Second, the mass confusion of sex based roles such as man being the provider; and woman being nurturer. Third, concession over basic theological distinctions in the church such as who can be a Pastor; or how one becomes a Christian. Fourth, making another category of people in humanity; when there are only two the redeemed saints who are united in Christ and the fallen sinners who are united in Adam. It is even more devastating when masses of Churches who were once solid become tainted by these kind degradation. We only stand strong when we stand on biblical truth and not humanistic error.
In Acts 5 we are told these important words: "we must obey God rather than man." While it is true that it is speaking of evangelism; and the danger of persecution. There is a more general principle in this as well. And John MacArthur puts it this way:
"Through all the history of God’s redemptive work in the world, civil rulers have worked against God’s people, have sought to overrule God, to abuse their sphere of power by stepping into the world of God’s kingdom and trying to take authority.... When they had brought them, they stood them before the Council. The high priest questioned them, saying, ‘We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.’ – here it is – “Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’” Get that? ..... “We must obey God rather than men.” Does this mean we have no responsibility to our leaders? Not at all. God has ordained human government for the peace and well-being of temporal society. Romans 13, “We are to recognise the authorities are designed by God. We are to submit to them in the sphere in which God has designed them to operate.”.... We’re to do more than that. We’re to honour them, show them respect. Through the years we’ve done that here. We continue to do that with the authorities in our city every opportunity we have. We render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. We even have been called, 1 Timothy 2, to pray for their salvation, as I did this morning. When orders come, however, to us that contradict the orders of our King, we have to obey God rather than men. " (We must obey God rather than men. 2020)
And that is the grand conclusion: we must obey God when His Word comes into direct conflict with the progressive nature of the world which is doomed from the beginning.
